[JBoss JIRA] (TEIIDDES-2949) When creating view, enable ability to select the columns instead of having to delete
by Van Halbert (JIRA)
Van Halbert created TEIIDDES-2949:
-------------------------------------
Summary: When creating view, enable ability to select the columns instead of having to delete
Key: TEIIDDES-2949
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIIDDES-2949
Project: Teiid Designer
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: Modeling
Affects Versions: 10.0.3
Reporter: Van Halbert
We need to build a 10 column view from a 100+ column table with a single data source
Now, we would create a view, drag the source over, with all the 100 columns and then have to delete what's needed.
For usability purposes, want to select the columns up front.

[JBoss JIRA] (TEIIDDES-2941) Provide an option to automatically reorder view columns to match the sql transformation
by Steven Hawkins (JIRA)
Steven Hawkins updated TEIIDDES-2941:
-------------------------------------
Description: On changing view definition sql there should be an option to automatically reconcile by recreating the view columns. (was: It is not required by the engine or the sql spec to have view column names match the column names of the projected query.
But some users report changing the sql statement and expecting the view column order to change as well and that's not offered as an option.)
Summary: Provide an option to automatically reorder view columns to match the sql transformation (was: Provide an option to enforce that view column names match the sql transformation)

> Use Steps to Reproduce to create REST Connection Profile. I assume Connection Profile is created because if u try to create another CP with same name it shows error that CP with given name already exists. However if you check Data Source Explorer, no REST CP is there.
> Also when I try _Import.../Teiid Designer/Web Service Source >> Source and View Model (REST)_, following _REST WebService Source_ combo box is empty. (Using _New..._ (next to combo box) should create CP, however combo box remains empty after creation)
