Matus Makovy commented on TEIIDDES-2536:
----------------------------------------
[~blafond] It takes about 10 seconds also with "clean" server (without any VDBs
or Data Sources except for the default). I think it doesn't look good and it's a
bit user unfriendly. If it isn't possible to shorten the time needed for this, could
we just add something like "Loading..." to indicate that Designer is trying to
load the necessary data?
For example, when you have some View model and you want to preview the data, TD will
inform you that you need to have a running server [See attachment]. So you start your
server and try to hit "Preview" within the 10 seconds again. Designer still
doesn't recognize the server as "running" and you see the same error report.
You have to refresh the server (or wait). It is a bit confusing I think. (You start the
server and TD says that the server is not running)
Another suggestion is to change the error report to something that indicates that server
is running, but TD is still loading data from Teiid and you have a to wait a second to be
able to contact/use the server.
No connection to Teiid instance after starting DV from JBDS - refresh
needed

Key: TEIIDDES-2536
URL:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIIDDES-2536
Project: Teiid Designer
Issue Type: Bug
Affects Versions: 9.0.2
Reporter: Matus Makovy
Assignee: Barry LaFond
Fix For: 9.0.4, 9.2
Attachments: Screen Shot 2015-05-20 at 9.40.55 AM.png, Screen Shot 2015-05-20 at

When you start DV server from JBDS there is no connection established to Teiid instance.
You have to refresh server or Teiid Instance. Sometimes it is sufficient to expand
particular server node in Servers view.
I think this issue is releated to TEIIDDES-2512
