Barry LaFond commented on TEIIDDES-721:
---------------------------------------
The DDL export feature has been in existence for 8+ years and probably hasn't changed
much or been checked for updates for any of the currently supported databases.
Though the framework is pretty straight forward and allows for adding DB's just by
adding XSLT files there are a number of critical issues with data-type translations that
are KEY to making this a robust feature.
We would probably want to re-visit the framework and find some way to make it clearer how
to introduce new DB's to the mix and bring data-type conversion into a more visible,
understandable and implementable framework.
Several supported databases missing in Teiid designer export menu

Key: TEIIDDES-721
URL:
https://jira.jboss.org/browse/TEIIDDES-721
Project: Teiid Designer
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Import/Export
Affects Versions: 7.1
Reporter: Boris Belovic
Assignee: Barry LaFond
Priority: Blocker
Fix For: 7.1.1
With external materialization user / customer generates DDL files for creating
materialized tables. These files contain SQL statements which will create tables with all
necessary columns. Teiid designer misses support for several DB engines, which are
supported with SOA-P 5.1. This causes that appropriate DDL files can't be generated
for these databases.
Missing databases are:
PostgreSQL 8.2 and 8.3
DB2 - 9.7
Oracle 10g and Oracle 11g
