The old parts project has been removed from the "help" plugin and replaced with
a "Project Examples..." contribution in JBT/JBDS
So this project has been fixed and is up-to-date via the new contribution.
Lastly, the project was imported using the "Archive File" import option which
created a nested model project, which caused a number of problems.

I imported the Parts Project Zip archive into a Model project and found the
PartSupplier_SourceA model was flagged as having errors. When I opened it up I realized
there were no tables in the model.
Somehow the model was corrupted when copied into the archive?
I'll attach appropriate stuff.
