Barry LaFond updated TEIIDDES-544:
----------------------------------
Assignee: Dan Florian
Fix Version/s: 7.1
Priority: Blocker (was: Major)
Problem here is the current "Create Data Source" action constructs a JNDI name
the SAME way as the "Preview" VDB logic does.
We need to change this action to create DS's via a user-defined NAME input screen with
feedback from the current default server list of deployed DS's so the user can't
create a duplicate??
Assigning to Dan.
Data source(s) for VDB deployed through Designer are removed when
project is closed - must remain available

Key: TEIIDDES-544
URL:
https://jira.jboss.org/browse/TEIIDDES-544
Project: Teiid Designer
Issue Type: Bug
Components: VDB & Execution
Affects Versions: 7.1
Environment: Fedora 12, JBDS 3.0.1, Designer 7.1M1
Reporter: Paul Nittel
Assignee: Dan Florian
Priority: Blocker
Fix For: 7.1
I created a project containing a single data source, set its connection profile (CP),
created a data source from that CP, created a VDV, and deployed the VDB to my Teiid server
instance.
When I closed the project, the data source was removed and the VDB (which remained
behind) was marked inactive.
When I tried to query the VDB I had no idea what was going on as it had been fine
earlier.
A VDB, and its data sources, once deployed must remain deployed until the user takes
action to un-deploy it or its sources.
