Preferably, this is so that convert() isn't used. When a physical source data type is
changed, anywhere its defined in views, should also be changed, so that everything is in
sync as being the same type.

Also at issue is when a data source column type needs to be changed in the source model,
but the views also need to be changed. Is there a way to replicate the change upstream
(so to speak) to all the dependent views?
