Barry LaFond commented on TEIIDDES-1434:
----------------------------------------
For Designer 8.0, the Admin part of the Server wizard will go away. The remaining JDBC
info should probably be treated/persisted in a simpler way?
Since users will "discover" or create/connect to a running Server (AS ??)
pinging the JDBC part will still have to go through same hoops as it is today (deploy
bogus vdb.xml and verify it's "deployed")
Improve the user experience when Teiid JDBC connection info is NOT
saved and Designer is restarted

Key: TEIIDDES-1434
URL:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIIDDES-1434
Project: Teiid Designer
Issue Type: Enhancement
Components: Data Preview, Teiid Integration
Affects Versions: 7.8
Reporter: Barry LaFond
Assignee: Paul Richardson
Fix For: 8.0
If user creates a new Teiid Server instance and does NOT check the "Save" JDBC
connection info (password), preview data and execute VDB will work during this session of
Designer.
If user exists and restarts, the password is empty and any Preview Data action or Execute
VDB action will result in a Teiid connection exception and a dialog will be displayed.
Would be really nice to be more "proactive" and maybe warn the user prior to
executing? or add a "problem" marker for the Teiid Server, and or decorate the
Teiid Server with a Warning/JDBC icon?
