Ok, so now we have 2nd and 3rd bullet items addressed. With the EmbeddedServer changes I will also check-in the change to not set the ddl to null and to make mapped role names thread safe. I think we will want to come up with a better way of referencing the ddl from the xml/metadata object in the future. On the forth point then, it looks moot as all of the updating methods have an immediate effect.
As part of this issue or TEIID-1328 we should also add a restart vdb operation so that pending modificaitons can take effect.
