Juergen, does this error still occur with GAE 1.8.8.1? Are you running the dev server with Java 1.7 or 1.6?
Please attach a small war that demonstrates the error; or at least attach ArtikelObserver.java.
I've tried upgrading a few small GAE+CDI apps to Weld 2.0, but couldn't replicate the problem.
