Marko Lukša IMO the spec does not cover this sort of class loading issues at all. Due to CNFE the VeryImportantObserver is not an enabled bean. So ProcessObserverMethod is not fired for observe() method, it's IPs are not validated and no event is delivered to it (10.2 Observer resolution). I do agree an INFO log message is definitely not enough. However I'm not so sure whether the deployment should fail...
