The stack trace from description is no longer available and the problem is not replicable with the current DS impl. However it does make sense to change the ShutdownManager so that it's not a CDI bean.
In any case the org.apache.deltaspike.cdise.weld.ContextController#stopApplicationScope() impl does not seem to be correct. Application scoped bean instances are not properly destroyed (only the bean store is cleaned up).
We should consider making current application context impl deactivable as well.
