I'd like to do a 29.0.0.Alpha1 on about May 1 or 2. This would be like some of the alpas we did for 27; minimal effort and fuss, just build and deploy the server to maven and provide any other deliverables that folks have the time and inclination to do.

The reason for this is because this month there's likely to be a fair amount of code re-organizing and deprecated code removal work going on, and perhaps some feature work in the provisioning area. We're aiming to get the bulk of that done this month, and I've heard from some folks that having an alpha in maven that incorporates that work will be helpful.

I figure we'd want PRs that would go into the alpha to be ready for merge by the 26-27th.

These are not at all precise dates.
