Features for Discussion
by Brad Davis
I'd like to have the following features, but wanted to get everyone's feedback.
1) The ability to read in effort from the XML files.
User Story: User runs Windup report and doesn't agree with the effort estimate. They would like to change the effort for a Java rule and rerun Windup, but aren't technical enough to recompile Windup.
Proposed Solution: Having a utility that we could use to easily look up a property from the Windup XML configuration would be a great solution for this. That way, it makes it easy for people to modify the effort.
2) The ability to override and disable rules from the XML.
User Story: A Java rule is not providing anticipated output and needs to be excluded from the report.
Proposed Solution: Have a simple registry of disabled rules in the XML, where the qualified Java class is provided that needs to be disabled / skipped.

Educational video for creating windup rules
by Matej Briskar
Hello team,
we had a discussion with Rodney+Lincoln about a possibility to create educational videos about creating Windup rules (rule phases, cath-all rules, all the conditions, all the operations, java rules).
This would be mainly to save time spent teaching how to write rules and instead, link people to these videos.
Or is webinar going to cover this topic well enough?

JBoss BOM
by Brad Davis
Jess,
I wanted to see whether there would be a way to take a Maven BOM or dependencies and generate the packaging needed for the classloader stuff? That way, when a platform is released, we could have a reusable way to generate the JBoss Windup target stuff that is needed for your classloading?
I know for example that we have a JBoss EAP BOM that I would guess would have all of the dependencies for Java EE and the base JBoss EAP modules for a given JBoss version. Could be a custom plugin to create your XML + the assembly or dependency plugin probably. Just wanted to throw the idea out there.
Is there a sample out & sample docs you can link me to?
Thanks,
Brad Davis
