If the company is interested on such kind of integration, we are here to help, but again it doesn’t seem to be the focus of GSoC. I would rather to have students learning with Matthias about how the push technology works, writing Cordova plugins, playing with Android….

Yeah, mobile market has a ton of money for crappy apps like Whatsapp which doesn't care about privacy. But the most valuable thing about GSoC is not money, but the knowledge gained from such amazing experience.
