From thomers at me.com Mon Nov 10 10:27:42 2014 From: thomers at me.com (Thomas Schweitzer) Date: Mon, 10 Nov 2014 16:27:42 +0100 Subject: [Aerogear-users] How to upgrade Aerogear Push to latest version on OpenShift Message-ID: Hello, I?ve been using Aerogear Push 1.0.0 on OpenShift and am very happy with it. Thanks guys! Now, I?m getting SSLHandshakeExceptions when I try to connect to APN servers. I read that Apple removed SSLv3, so I want to upgrade to the latest 1.0.2 version (which I understand fixes this). The question is - how? Is there an automatic ?upgrade cartridge? feature available in OpenShift? (Although I do have experience on AWS, this is my first time on OpenShift, sorry). Or do I have to manually upload the latest WAR files, and restart the server? Thanks, Thomas -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... When I select a development variant, I can send notifications via the web console, and they are received on the iOS (development) devices properly. But when I select a production variant, the notifications seem to get sent (I see no errors in the web console), and NO notifications are received on the devices. I tested this with two different apps already published in the store - same problem. >From what I can tell, there should be no difference between the app I?m testing on the dev variant, and the two apps in the store - the push registration is the same, and I can see installations for the 2 production variants, so the devices are definitely registering. The only difference is the number of receivers (4 for the dev, 50 for the production variant). I?m sending the same message. Any idea what could be wrong? With the 2 apps in question, I never registered a development variant, only a production variant per app. One side effect of this could have been that during testing my development devices (running a debug build, i.e. not one downloaded from the app store) registered its device token on the production variant. I?m not not sure whether my situation is similar to the one described in https://issues.jboss.org/browse/AGPUSH-1087 - If that?s the source of my problem, is there a workaround? Should I delete my development token(s) from the DB to solve the issue temporarily? (I?ve got a pretty important app launch coming up, where I want to push to 65.000 devices?) If I go to admin console and desactivate the iPad2 installation and sent again a Push message to all variants, now iPhone 5S and IPad mini received the notification => Therefore, it is indeed when one installtion has non valid certificate thta all installations of this corrupted variants will not received the notification. I also confirm that the work around does work. Looking on FINE grained logging, I noticed that this succeed callback is called: https://github.com/aerogear/aerogear-unifiedpush-server/blob/master/push/src/main/java/org/jboss/aerogear/unifiedpush/message/SenderServiceImpl.java#L140 The problem seem to be in deepsest level of code.
