Pete Muir resolved CDI-176.
---------------------------

         Assignee: Pete Muir
    Fix Version/s: (was: 1.1 (Proposed))
       Resolution: Rejected

This is because it just doesn't normally make sense to allow these things to be used directly via EL. We can't write that in the spec.

> CDI 1.0 spec states in section *3.5.1. Declaring a resource*:
> "If the producer field declaration specifies an EL name, the container automatically detects the problem and treats it as a definition error."
> Is there any reason to forbid EL name for declared resource?
