[cdi-dev] With the end of Java Config...

The downside I see with this approach are:1.) where to apply this? This mechanism must also work in unit tests and at development time in your IDE
2.) it's not portable
3.) it has security issues as the expanding is done at deploy-time
4.) Thus this does not work well for anything sensible like user credentials, etc
5.) it is not anywhere near dynamic - it really requires a re-deployment if you like to change the config. This is not practicable for apps which run for years.

of course, other approaches have other downsides as well...
