The most recent patch for DNA-372 tests this functionality through the JR TCK Test.  It also provides an example of how to use IDTrust to configure JAAS-based access to DNA outside of a container.  I believe that the combination of that patch and the previous patch on this defect provide a positive resolution for this defect.
