There are still a number of changes that we would require before hudson is equivalent to the current CI system.

We can close this (as a first stage) provided I can raise another to cover the following issues.

 - emails should be sent on every identified build, i.e. only when source code has changed
 - the repository should ideally be polled every 15 mins to detect changes
 - the report should include emma coverage

and, perhaps most important
 - hudson builds have to be reliable

There have been a number of transient 'failures' reported by hudson when our CI build has been succeeding.
