The maven plugin has never been a supported part of the ESB, even though we originally wrote it.

The code was dontated to the codehaus guys, I even gave them a patch for their codebase, but so far they have ignored it.

It may be time to bring this back under the project's control but I do not believe it is something that should be tied to any release.

Perhaps we should create a separate project for tools such as these, in which I would include the eclipse plugin.
