The acknowledgement of a non-transactional JMS gateway occurs after the receipt of the message but before the delivery of the ESB message to the target service.

This behaviour is inconsistent with the other gateways which 'acknowledge' success after delivery.  The consequence of this is that messages may get lost on failure rather than be redelivered as with other gateways.
