One more comment, the message byte totals are measured using an integer which means that they will wrap after about 2G.

Unfortunately changing those to long seems to break the DataFiler so I have not done it.  I'm not sure how useful those totals could therefore be for anything other than short term monitoring.

I'll raise another issue to cover this.
