Fair point.  Perhaps it should do something intelligent based on the app server.  For example I think with older JBoss AS, bundling the JSF libraries could cause class conflicts with JSF that was provided, but bundling with Tomcat would be alright.  Maybe the feedback provided should be tailored to the specific app server and the capabilities available.
