I was actually talking initially just about naming of things, i.e. the label used to refer to a directory. 

The internal location part is more about being able to specify Eclipse workspace locations (or if in intellij or netbeans mounted project paths) instead of full directory paths.

That is a separate discussion/feature which I was trying to not get into yet.
