Logged in as root. Clicked on Site, Edit Navigation, Right click the node ... Delete Node

Would be great to have edit navigation mode in the navigation tree at Add New Page.

I can imagine the use case for not automatically removing the node when deleting a page when you want to relink to a different page.

Maybe it would be more user-friendly to ask the user if they want to remove the node as well?
