To reproduce the issue:

(1) Install a new copy of GateIn with JBoss AS (zip file name: GateIn-3.1.0-FINAL-jbossas.zip) on a Windows XP system at C:\Program Files\jboss\GateIn-3.1.0-GA.  (I have not tested on any other OS or directory location, so I don't know whether replication of the issue is dependent on these factors).

(2) Extract the attached zip file under server\default.  The zip file contains the "data" directory that includes the JCR repository files.

(3) Run the server using the standard bin\run.bat

(4) Open the portal home page in a browser: http://localhost:8080/portal/private/classic/home

(5) Log in to the default root account

(6) Navigate to http://localhost:8080/portal/private/classic/home/Gadgets.  You should see HTTP 500 errors for the three gadgets on this page.

(7) Navigate to http://localhost:8080/portal/private/classic/administration/registry.  Attempt to edit gadgets "Test", "Test2" or "Calendar".  You should see an error message "unknown error".

Note that the data directory in this attachment was the result of a brand new installation after about 10 minutes of repeated editing of gadget XML files for gadgets Test and Test2, which were simply default 'hello world' examples with the gadget name changed, and also editing of the included Calendar gadget.  During editing of the gadgets I also frequently navigated back and forth between the Application Registry (for editing gadgets) and the home/Gadgets page to view the gadgets that I was editing.
