I've checked http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/gatein/portal/trunk/web/portal/src/main/webapp/WEB-INF/classes/locale/portal/webui_ar.xml
the problem is that <StringLengthValidator> is put inside the tag <EmptyFieldValidator> , which is incorrect
It must be put outside in the same level as <EmptyFieldValidator>
