This year we had so much support from various projects in JBoss and so many great proposals by students, that we were able to accept 13 students! Another warm welcome from all of us here at Red Hat! Find a list of all projects here: http://blog.eisele.net/2015/04/welcome-google-summer-of-code-students.html Make sure to use the community bonding period to catch up with your mentors and get familiar with the individual projects. I am selected for Google Summer of Code 2015 [2] with JBoss, with the Security based project Keycloak - Certificate Management. I will also be contributing bits and bytes to another Keycloak proposal - Keycloak Auditing Admin Events. In addition, my focus will be to contribute anything which shall be required as per the keycloak development roadmap. I worked upon Public Key Infrastructure API [7] and JOSE implementations (JWA, JWK, JWS , JWE and JWT) [8] and implemented them for JBoss Picketlink (GSoC 2014, JBoss Community). I also contributed to Picketlink HTTP Security API, CORS Support and Picketlink SCIM (System for cross domain identity management). I am contributing to JBoss Keycloak lately since January 2015 and submitted patches for few minor bugs and enhancements. I have also submitted a talk on Federated identities[9] for Fedora Users and Developers Conference APAC. Planet Jboss will be soon updated with my blog posts. My Keycloak proposal link is here[10]. I'm Idel Pivnitskiy and I'm a final year undergraduate student from National Research Nuclear University MEPhI at Moscow, but I don't work with nuclear physics :) I learn Computer Science at Cybernetic and Information Security department. On my work we use JBoss technologies and build your applications and services on WildFly or JBoss AS with Hibernate, RESTEasy, RichFaces, AeroGear, Infinispan, GateIn and other JBoss projects. Last summer I worked on Various compression codecs [1] for Netty [2]. It was my first experience with FOSS and I very glad that I was involved to this community! This summer I will work on Aerogear WebPush Server [3]. This is an implementation of the WebPush Protocol specification [4], which now in the draft mode. I will maintain WebPush Server to use the latest WebPush Protocol specification and add WebPush support to the UnifiedPush Server [5]. Also I will implement a lightweight Java client of the WebPush wire protocol and show how it works on IoT devices with UPS. I am currently pursuing an engineering degree in Computer Science. I love algorithms, cloud computing and web development. I have been working with Java technologies for two years now, mainly creating and maintaining web apps that run on top of a Tomcat server. I have been selected for the GSOC Program to contribute to Forge project. I will basically create a new addon that will allow Forge users to easily manage data migration in their Forge based projects. Random facts about me: I speak Arabic, French, English and trying to improve my skills in German. I love travelling all over the world and I consider sleeping as my best hobby. Hopefully, it is gonna be an amazing summer, we all share the joy of coding (and also the joy of getting a stipend as a reward :p ) Please don't hesitate to contact me. Good luck everyone :) -- [image: --] [image: http://]*wissemzrelli.me* *Tel +216 22 688 110* -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
