The Metrics project will to move to Cassandra 3 as soon as possible (fuzzy timeline but on it's on the horizon). Titan currently advertises support for Cassandra 2.0.8, which is older than 2.1.x used by Metrics. So from the perspective of being happy with what is there, Titan is already considerably behind. This acquisition really puts a dent on Titan ....
