I'm not sure how Hibernate configuration is implemented, and if the configuration process is decoupled from engine process (but I believe it is).

I think Hibernate Annotation's job is just a matter of creating and configuring an instance of Configuration (AnnotationConfiguration), and the rest of the job is done by Hibernate Core!

I'm surprise then why not all the features of Hibernate Core is supported by Hibernate Annotations!? :-?
