I am *sure* as i can be, because in the MANIFEST.MF file contained within the meta-inf directory of hibernate3.jar the info is:

Manifest-Version: 1.0

I only added one line (the line directly under the method declaration) in 3 method in the whole of FromClause.java, this is to just print out the parameter passed in.  These methods are:

1. getFromElement
2. findIntendedAliasedFromElementBasedOnCrazyJPARequirements
3. containsClassAlias
