Max Rydahl Andersen resolved HBX-27.
------------------------------------

    Resolution: Won't Fix

No news in a long time and the suggested usage of == will break when you have subsubclasses or just using proxies.

If someone provides a patch that isn't broken then i'll consider it again.

> I would like to see HB-978 reevaluated based on the solution offered to the issue of preservation of the equals contract in the section "Easy Fix" of the article: http://www.agiledeveloper.com/articles/equals062002.htm
> In it's current state, the joined-subclass is only limitedly useful for those of us generating our persistent classes with hbm2java. Correcting the equals problem would allow developers to make use of commonality of persistant objects in code by referring to a parent class. While work arounds are available, they are not quite natural from a data composition standpoint...and they tend to result in more complicated code.
