We've been running our service forever on Hib2; we're finally making the change to Hib3, and this is the only outstanding issue preventing widespread testing for us.  Torsten's point seems good -- the original patch was clearly a feature that was accepted into the base Hib2 tree; it would be nice to see this feature in Hib3.
