I have the following classes:

@Entity
@Inheritance(strategy= InheritanceType.SINGLE_TABLE)
@DiscriminatorColumn(name="cltype", discriminatorType= DiscriminatorType.STRING, length=10)
@DiscriminatorValue("device")
public abstract class Device extends AbstractPersistent {

    private System system;

    @ManyToOne
    public System getSystem() {
        return system;
    }

    public void setSystem(System system) {
        this.system = system;
    }
}

@Entity
@DiscriminatorValue("snmp")
public class SnmpDevice extends Device {

    // .... additional properties defined
}

When I try to create the SessionFactory, I'm getting the following exception:
