Gail Badner reopened HHH-3283:
------------------------------

      Assignee: Gail Badner (was: Steve Ebersole)

DB2 does not support an untyped parameter in INSERT INTO ... SELECT ... ? ... ; however, DB2 will support a parameter if it is cast as an appropriate data type.

For example:
INSERT INTO ... SELECT ... CAST(? AS TIMESTAMP) ... .

Since Hibernate modifies insert SQL to update timestamps, this really needs to be fixed.

> protect BulkManipulationTest#testInsertWithGeneratedTimestampVersion where Dialect#supportsParametersInInsertSelect == false

> Because the timestamp there is vm-based, that particular test is hosed if the dialect/jdbc-driver does not support defining parameters in the INSERT ... SELECT statement.
