We developed a solution very similiar to the one posted here. 

Also have a look at how Spring manages the issue of accesing native jdbc interfaces at
http://static.springframework.org/spring/docs/2.0.x/api/org/springframework/jdbc/support/nativejdbc/NativeJdbcExtractor.html

We should include something very similar to NativeJdbcExtractor in our Batcher to make it generic and manage different jdbc object wrappers.
