I plan to do an early 0.1 release very soon so you should be able to use that.  I can understand the dependency dilemma but I would recommend 'shading' JType into HV if you don't want to introduce another dependency - have you seen the maven-shade-plugin? http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-shade-plugin/
