Please attach a runnable test case (Java + mapping) that reproduces this issue.

Also, please take a look at http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/hibernate/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa?mode=hide&requestId=11080 and let us know if this issue could be causing other issues reported against 3.5.x that have not been resolved yet.
