Douglas Ferguson commented on HHH-2049:
---------------------------------------

We have a library that uses the criteria api to build up a pretty complicated filter. We had a change in our data model recently that requires us to use a "left join on id1 = id2 AND id1 = ?"

Is there a way to accomplish this with the criteria api?

If not, if we were going to create a patch or some how create an workaround, can anybody point us in the right direction?

> When using the Criteria API with LEFT OUTER JOIN to add criterias to the children, i.e.
> criteria.createCriteria("children", JoinFragment.LEFT_OUTER_JOIN)
> the child collections will only contain those children matching the criteria. (Even when *not* using any Filters).
> The attached testcase (also found here: http://forum.hibernate.org/viewtopic.php?p=2320786) will explain it in more detail.
