Right, seems that there is a [JDT APT|http://www.eclipse.org/jdt/apt/index.html] project within Eclipse. I am not quite clear why they re-implement the Sun API though. I am also not sure whether the plan is to stick to this approach or use the native support at some stage.
IMO we might be seeing a bug in the JDT APT plugin now.
