Hardy Ferentschik commented on HSEARCH-608:
-------------------------------------------
I don't understand why you think '~' should be interpolated. First of all the tilde has only a specific meaning on unix based systems and it is generally the shell interpolation which expands the '~' to the users home directory. In Java systems the '~' does not mean anything.

> Project: Hibernate Search
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: directory provider
> Affects Versions: 3.3.0.Beta2
> Environment: Linux 2.6.35-22-generic
> Reporter: Daniele Dellafiore
> Priority: Minor
> Fix For: 3.3.0.Beta3
>
>
> with persistence.xml configured with:
> <property name="hibernate.search.default.indexBase" value="~/.lucene/indexes" />
> the index is not created. If I write the actual user home instead of using ~, index is created.
