Not sure if we should still expose the IndexWriter to it.
In all cases, interactions OptimizerStrategy <-> Workspace is currently tricky and should be simplified.

Also during Alpha1 a draft for a Workspace interface was created, this is exposed to the OptimizerStrategy so it should be cleaned up as well.
