When a constraint is defined, it's possible to specify the groups it belongs. The section 3.5 of the specification says:

{{quote}}Groups are represented by interfaces.{{quote}} 

Consequently, the annotation processor should check that only interfaces are used in the {{groups}} parameter of a constraint declaration.
