I'm not sure this is a bug. We usually log the versions in a static block, so it's coupled to our jar (which defines the "Hibernate Search version"); but each backend can use a different Serialization implementation, and we had also chosen by design to be able to support different versions of the same implementation.

Since you are seeing it twice I guess you're having to index managers: we should include the index name in the log for sure.
