I don't think you are looking at the classes you said you are.  The {{org.hibernate.ejb.test.metagen.mappedsuperclass.idclass}} package contains the classes {{AbstractAttribute}} and {{AbstractAttributeId}} mapped as {{MappedSuperclass}} plus {{ProductAttribute}} extending {{AbstractAttribute}} as an entity and {{ProductAttributeId}} extending {{AbstractAttributeId}} used as an {{IdClass}} on {{ProductAttribute}}.

The generated model there has :
