I wanted to clarify something that might not be so clear wrt passivation. In expiration, http://community.jboss.org/wiki/Eviction, we clearly indicate that any expiration due to max idle or lifespan, results in a complete removal. So, obviously, it might be worth noting that only those candidates for eviction due to exceeding cache size will be passivated. IOW, none of the expired entries will ever be passivated.
