A more concise version of the JIRA is present in ISPN-907, and Tristan is working on porting that one into latest Infinispan, so let's close this.

Btw, REST servers are already accessible via SSL when the servlet engine underneath it supports it, and authentication has been implemented too within AS7.

Memcached server could be enhanced to support SSL, but I've not seen that much demand for it.
