Hmmm, I see that a null check has been added but I'm still intrigued by the reason why the mbeanServer is null in this case. We're only unregistering the MBean if the cache exposes JMX stats, in which case on startup it should have had the mbeanServer set to register the mbeans.

I wonder if the webapp could be attached, alongside instructions to replicate the issue.
