Hi Francisco,
I just run your test again and it seems I can't mark this resolved yet :-(
Either ISPN-1174 is not correctly fixed or a similar race condition is happening; from the looks of the exception it seems we might be receiving a stale version of the stored buffer.

I'm investigating the problem to provide an isolated test to the Infinispan/core team (without Lucene involved); at the same time however I believe that if the problem is just with chunk sizes it might be worked around with an appropriate MergeScheduler.. but that's obviously not acceptable in the long term.
