In order to preserve backwards compatibility, the clustering configuration forwards {{remoteTimeout(...)}} to {{syncConfiguration.replTimeout(...)}}. But that means the {{REMOTE_TIMEOUT}} attribute is never updated, and change listeners added for that attribute are never called.
